Ryan Oevermann, a Canadian-born author of the International Bestseller "Chronicles of a Parky - A Lighter Look at a Shaky Existence” approaches life with humour despite facing challenges, as he is living with Parkinson's. Ryan's journey with Parkinson's began at the age of 43 when he was diagnosed at the UBC Movement Disorders Clinic. Since then, he has achieved remarkable milestones, including placing 3rd in the country in Taekwon-Do and earning his 5th-degree black belt. Currently, he is working on his next two books, sharing his unique perspective with readers. As a loving husband of 25 years and a father of two, Ryan is known for his unbeatable optimism and determination. In 2024, Ryan underwent DBS surgery, and he is now actively speaking across the country, with plans to expand his reach globally. Ryan is currently planning his appearance at TEDx 2026.
