Sue Strom is a highly experienced educator with 37 years of classroom expertise, specializing in math and reading intervention. Throughout her career, she has focused on building meaningful relationships with children and their families to help each child reach their fullest potential and thrive as independent, contributing and happy adults.
She holds a coaching certificate from the National Urban Alliance and has taught math and equity courses at the University of St. Thomas. She was a balanced literacy coach in California and is trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach, equipping her with specialized tools to support diverse learning needs.
Sue firmly believes that a child’s success is rooted in strong partnerships between schools, families, and the community. This philosophy led her to co-develop an innovative intervention model with Dr. Lucy Payne. Their unique approach combines in-school support with after-school tutoring and enrichment, drawing from Sue’s extensive study of successful youth programs. Together, they aim to transform learning communities nationwide, creating lasting positive impacts on students and their futures.
