Recently widowed, I was thankful to capture my husband's stories growing up on a farm in the deep south and turn them into a work of fiction before he died. While Finding Roots was my first novel, several others are swirling in my brain, begging to be put on paper.
Writing has been a lifelong passion for me. But, alas, marriage, children, and career came first. I have embraced varied careers, which included earning a doctorate in education, editor of a very small-town newspaper, owning my own real estate firm, and opening a small restaurant. You'll see little pieces of these careers throughout my writings.
Life passes quickly. I choose to embrace every moment and look for new challenges. Through change comes growth, and I am not done growing.
