M de Armas

Monica De Armas is a fantasy writer from Miami, Florida. Born in a Cuban household, she became obsessed with lore and mythology when she lost her father at eleven years old. This loss started the domino effect of her creation of her own world of fantasy and it became a safe haven when the reality of grief felt too strong; her imagination became a coping mechanism that paved the path to becoming a fantasy novelist. Fueled by her love for writing and teaching, she pursued a bachelor’s in Literature from Florida International University and a masters in science in Educational Leadership from St. Thomas University. She is a passionate reading teacher working with at-risk teenagers who come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Through her work, she teaches students the beauty of storytelling and encourages students to harness the power of imagination like she did.
