I believe banking can – and must – evolve to better serve society. At SC Ventures, the venture building arm of Standard Chartered, our mission is to rewire the DNA in banking, reconnecting financial services with societal expectations and serving customers the way they want and need to be served.

As the CEO of SC Ventures, I lead a global team of business builders, operators and investors to build and scale breakthrough ventures in and beyond banking. Since our inception in 2018, we’ve incubated 35+ new ventures and made 20+ strategic investments in technology partners, across our themes of Digital Banking & Lifestyle, Trade & Supply Chains and Digital Assets - enabled by AI, Web3/Blockchain, ESG and Quantum. We share candid revelations about challenges and lessons learnt across our 7-year journey in our new book, Nothing Ventured Nothing Gained.

I am passionate about solving real client and societal problems using technology as an enabler, and creating ecosystems of ventures, fintech partners and financial institutions to deliver transformational impact. Finance is, I believe, inherently purposeful. When directed towards solving meaningful challenges, it can become a powerful force for good.
