After a long and intricate spiritual journey, I encountered the original ancient faith of Eastern Orthodox Christianity at the age of sixty. Raised in the Baptist tradition, I explored various Protestant denominations, delved into Zen Buddhism, and spent a period in atheism before returning to Christianity. Confronted by the diversity of Christian interpretations, I undertook an in-depth study of biblical languages and the Jewish context of Scripture in search of clarity and renewed understanding.
In the years leading up to my entrance into the ancient faith, I delved deeply into biblical studies. I spent eight years studying Hebrew, one year studying Aramaic, and four years studying Greek, in addition to taking courses on the Jewish context, the geography of Israel, and advanced modern Hebrew. This educational journey ultimately brought me to the Eastern Orthodox Church, where I found the ancient tradition I had long sought—faith that is rooted in an unbroken lineage of bishops stretching back to the apostles.
Although I have extensively studied at the Israel Institute of Biblical Studies, I do not hold any formal theological degrees and am not affiliated with the clergy. As an ordinary parishioner, I find myself as astonished as any individual by the insights I articulate in this publication. Whether these concepts arise from my academic endeavors or constitute a manifestation of grace, I entrust the determination to the reader.
For more than forty years, I have worked as a software engineer, prioritizing ideas and innovation over titles or credentials. In this spirit, I hope this book stands on its own merits, encouraging readers to view the allegories of creation, the Fall, and perhaps the entirety of the Bible through a new and enlightening lens.
