Despite a varied life living in several counties and having a multitude of careers, on hitting 40, Rupert Bacon found he had five unachieved ambitions; to be a vicar, get married, sail round Britain, retire early, and to become a published author. Although writing had always been with him (during the 80's he wrote two whodunits and earned a living contributing to technical reports about motorways) actual publication was still a distant dream. However by 2002 he achieved married bliss. Then in 2004 retirement and sailing got ticked off. By 2008 the church declared him 'untrainable'. He was thus free to write. Three more murders were added and a new genre spilled forth; children's stories. To date there are 25 and 3 are published. 'A Stitch in Time' says thank you to the Cornish for welcoming two upcountry people to their beautiful land. 'Now We Are Very Old' reflects a long term love of poetry. 'A Yeti Under My Bed' is a celebration of yetis and acknowledges long lost Sussex childhood friendships.
