Y.N. Bar-Lev writes science fiction forged in the fires of real-world conflict. A volunteer soldier during Vietnam, he was recruited by the NSA for his unique analytical mind—later identified as Asperger’s Syndrome. His career spanned executing covert missions in hostile territory, briefing the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and leading classified Cold War operations.

Having transitioned from the crosshairs of snipers to working in a death row prison and bringing justice to those who prey on the vulnerable, Bar-Lev brings a visceral authenticity to his storytelling. He writes with the conviction of a man who has risked everything for justice and freedom, applying those hard-won lessons to the canvas of the future. He currently lives in a mountaintop city with his wife, continuing his lifelong adventure.
