Emily Maskell

Emily Maskell is an author, film critic, and culture writer originally from the flatlands of Norfolk. She has written for BBC Culture, GQ, the BFI, W Magazine and more. She graduated with a Master's in Film from King’s College, London.

Emily has authored books in the Icons of Cinema series, she is an expert on Baz Luhrmann's flamboyant worlds and Wes Anderson's symmetrical universes.

Her writing also covers TV, music, and internet culture through op-eds, profiles, and reported interviews. She is a Rotten Tomatoes-approved critic and is recognized as an influential film critic with her participation in Sight and Sound’s Greatest Films of All Time poll. Additionally, she has industry experience as a script reader and editor.
