Jaime Hunt

Jaime Hunt is the founder and president of Solve Higher Ed Marketing, a consulting firm she launched in 2024 after a 20-year career in higher education—including nearly a decade as a chief marketing officer. A storyteller at heart, she specializes in branding, marketing, empathetic leadership, and cutting through the noise to create meaningful connections.


Jaime began her career as a print journalist before transitioning to higher education in 2004. Over the years, she has led efforts in media relations, marketing, branding, digital communications, crisis communications, and enrollment marketing. Her leadership roles include serving as vice president and chief communications and marketing officer at Old Dominion University, Miami University (Ohio), and Winston-Salem State University. Earlier in her career, she held marketing and communications positions at Radford University, the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, and Northwestern Health Sciences University.


A passionate educator and keynote speaker, Jaime also teaches graduate courses in higher education marketing and emerging media at West Virginia University. She has taken the stage at conferences around the world, earned more than 40 industry awards, and served as a dedicated volunteer with organizations like the American Marketing Association, the Public Relations Society of America, and the Council for the Advancement and Support of Higher Education.


Jaime holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Minnesota and a master’s in integrated marketing communications from West Virginia University. She is also a graduate of the Arizona State University/Georgetown University Academy for Innovative Higher Education Leadership.


She lives in coastal Virginia, where she shares her home with her husband, Dave, an elderly dog named Maeby, and a surprisingly social tortoise, ClemBob. When she’s not helping institutions elevate their brands, you can probably find her on the water—happiest with the wind in her hair and a boat beneath her feet.
