Shiho Brenner

Shiho Brenner is a children’s book author based in San Diego, California.

Guided by the belief that “words have the power to light up children’s hearts and change their future,” she creates stories that families can enjoy together while fostering self-affirmation, kindness, and diversity.

Born and raised in Japan, Shiho graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a degree in Economics and began her career at a Japanese company. After marriage and raising her children, she started writing while drawing inspiration from her family life.

Her notable works include the I Shine series, where colorful monsters deliver affirmations, and Yokai’s Magic Words, which introduces Japanese folklore and encourages children to believe in themselves and embrace kindness.

In addition to writing, Shiho is a Kimono Ambassador who shares the beauty of Japanese traditions on international stages. Through both her books and cultural activities, she is dedicated to her life’s work: “connecting hearts across cultures.”
