Jonathan Halvorson

Jonathan Halvorson’s first career path was in the philosophy of science, for which he earned a PhD from Columbia University in 2001. After teaching a couple of years at Washington University in St. Louis, he decided he was not cut out for what academia had become in the 21st century. While looking for a new path he took a misbegotten detour into electoral politics before migrating to healthcare strategy, policy and technology. He worked in healthcare, private sector and government, for nearly two decades and still does occasional consulting work.

Jonathan turned to writing full time in 2023, because life is short and there were stories he needed to tell.
