Mark Borden MD

Dr. Mark Borden grew up in San Diego, California.

He remembers standing at his father’s side in the doctor’s lunch- room at Mercy Hospital when he was five years old. His father, an orthopedist, asked him, in front of several other doctors, “What are you going to be when you grow up?” With absolute certainty, Mark answered, “A doctor like you, Dad.”

Mark graduated from high school at sixteen years of age and spent time traveling the country pursuing the sport of falconry, which has been one of his lifelong passions. Dr. Borden has trained more than a few owls, as well as hawks and this experience played a major part in the cover selection.

As of 2025, Dr Borden has been practicing medicine for 32 years. His time in medicine has been divided between the university setting, as a Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine, and in the private sector. This extensive experience enables him to be an expert teacher and to have a great understanding of America’s Medical System.
