Shawn Eager is self-described as one of the good guys in a world that sometimes feels like there are no good guys left. He was raised in a middle-class family with six siblings, that moved around quite a bit because of his father's work. He was always the "new kid" at school and was drawn to the visual arts long before taking to writing. In a sense, Shawn first got into writing because of music. He was in a couple of bands in his twenties but grew tired of the bar scene and being background music for loud, drunk people. His thirties brought on the singer/songwriter in him and he penned several dozen songs before noticing that he was also writing poetry...duh... That realization opened a different window in his brain and from there the writing just never stopped. Shawn is new to the literary world. He says he feels the pangs of imposter syndrome from time to time. And on top of that, being an older gent from an analog world also means working his way through the learning curves of the digital world.
Before his wife's passing, Shawn was happily married for forty-eight years. He is a father, grandfather, poet, singer/songwriter, visual artist, fauxlosopher, a serious foodie and a bon vivant' in training. While Shawn may see himself as an old dog, he is determined to learn new tricks and outlive an average life just to prove to himself and others it is never too late to follow a dream.
