Nancy Boyd

Nancy Boyd is not your ordinary writer. She's been at it since age 3, though crayon marks in encyclopedias don't count. An award-winning writer and award-winning coach (International Coach of the Year, 2009), she's spent more than two decades transforming trauma into wisdom — emerging with her dignity and a wicked sense of humor intact — and helping others do the same.

For adults, she writes as the Soul Mechanic: the person you want when your spiritual check engine light starts flashing. For children, she writes the Stinkerton Detective Agency Mysteries: cozy, funny whodunits solved by a family of skunks in the peaceful village of Berryville, where curiosity does all the detective work and nothing ever goes bump in the night. The entire series arrived in a single night's dream — village, skunks, mysteries and all — which Nancy, who has spent her career telling people to trust their inner wisdom, considers a fair point well made. The same life skills her adult readers work to recover, handed to kids early and disguised as fun.

Nancy lives in Oregon, where she runs Bright Wings Press, drinks serious quantities of estate Ceylon tea, believes in magic, demands authenticity, and remains undefeated at asking one more question.
