RUTH E WILSON

Passion within your soul is the flame that will light your way…. Ruth E Wilson.

Ruth E Wilson is an adventurer, aviator, speaker and writer. This author is credited with a long list of ‘firsts’ from the age of 16 to 75 years old. Her pioneering energy has allowed her to conquer numerous challenges and clouds her life, both personal and physical.

Saved from drowning by dolphins, Ruth has never let age define her. At the age of 75 she launched at night in her hydrogen filled balloon “Bernadette" from Bern Switzerland. Her flight took her to 15,000 feet above the snow-covered Swiss Alps at night, over the Italian Dolomites to land in an Italian vineyard after 18hours. No sleep for 33 hours, water frozen due to the cold this challenge capped many Ruth had tackled.

Self-belief has carried me on the winds of life. The alternative is to stay grounded in the shadow of doubt fighting shadows of the mind. It takes courage not to be swayed by others.

Ruth worked as a journalist in Japan, discovered hot air ballooning in New Zealand in 1975. Her writing has been published widely through magazines articles and aviation publications. In 2018 she wrote the Fifty-Year History of the Northam Aero Club. A story that acknowledged volunteers born with heart to five and applauds men and women who use the sky for the playground.

Conquering Clouds Second Edition, published December 24 2024, covers the author’s life from birth to seventy-five. This Australian author has lived a remarkable life - it’s time everyone knew about it.
