Kenn M Smith

Kenn M Smith was born in Birmingham, England, and if you had told him thirty years ago he would end up writing a novel about dinosaurs, aliens and 65 million years of hidden history, he probably would have laughed you out of the room.

He was made redundant in 2007, and that one moment changed the direction of his life. He went on to build a career as a senior international executive, living in eight countries over the next decade and working across more than eighty others. Sitting on a beach in Koh Samui with his laptop open, a thought surprised even him. What if he actually tried writing a novel?

He grew up loving science fiction and alien invasion films, but felt the genre only ever told one of two stories. Kenn wanted something different, so he built a story where the visitors never had to arrive at all. They had already been here for 65 million years.

That idea became Aractopus, his first novel, published in 2025 by Maple Publishers. Part One is out now, and readers have called it original, fast moving and hard to put down. He is already at work on Part Two.
