Danny English is an outdoor education specialist, storyteller, and author dedicated to deepening our connection with nature through the power of story. His works include The Happiness Tree, The Nature Connected Curriculum, and Tales of the Timeless Forest.
For over two decades, he has explored the transformative impact of outdoor education—how it enriches lives, strengthens communities, and inspires a deeper care for the Earth. His journey began in the woods of New Hampshire, where, as a young educator, he sat beside a crackling fire and listened to master storyteller Odds Bodkin weave magic through words and music. That moment awakened his inner storyteller, stirring something ancient and boundless within him—the same spark that ignites in all of us when we are moved by a master storyteller.
Rooted in the belief that storytelling is as essential as fire, water, air, and Earth, Danny sees himself not as the creator of these tales but as their messenger. He gathers stories from the whispering trees, the soaring birds, and the murmuring wind, bringing them to life for readers and listeners alike.
He lives in a picturesque valley in the Northwest of England with his loving partner, Annie, and their amazing daughter Iona. When he’s not writing or sharing stories, he can be found wandering the woods, listening for the next tale, waiting to be told.
