Patrick Derouard, born in Rennes in 1960, is a contemporary French lyric poet whose work is distinguished by its delicacy, musicality, and sensitivity. Praised by Yves Viollier as well as members of the Académie de Bretagne such as Yves Cosson, Norbert Lelubre, and Serge Wellens, his poetry mainly explores themes of love, nature, childhood, and dreams. A member of the Société des Poètes Français, the Académie de la Poésie Française, and the Société des Écrivains de Vendée, he has authored numerous poems published in various journals, anthologies, and personal collections awarded by the Académie de Bretagne and the Société Académique de Nantes.
