Douglas Cameron Borthwick

Douglas C. Borthwick has spent more than 30 years in markets, trading global currencies at Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, and Standard Chartered, and helped bring the first SEC-registered IPO on the blockchain to market, which raised circa 85 million US dollars from over 7,300 investors in 74 countries.

Today he is Founder and CEO of The Insumer Model, CEO of Skye Meta, and Co-Founder and CEO of TokenCapStack. The Insumer Model is two things. It is the framework for turning customers into stakeholders through ownership they can prove. It is also the company behind InsumerAPI, the wallet auth infrastructure underneath it, which reads what a wallet holds, checks it against a condition, and returns a signed yes or no, so a business can recognize a customer without issuing a password, an account, or any other secret to be stolen.

His Insumer Revolution series runs from tokenized ownership to the agent economy: The Insumer Model, Your Equity in Your Pocket, and Secrets and Agents, on why AI agents cannot hold secrets and what replaces the password. He has also written Bitcoin: The Capital Singularity, Tokenized Tomorrow, and Bitcoin, Blockchain and Tokenization.

He co-hosts the Old Men, New Money podcast, holds a BS from Carnegie Mellon and an MBA from Yale, and has appeared on Bloomberg, CNBC, and Fox Business.
