Derrin Slack

Derrin Slack believes the most important thing any of us can do is learn to see people as people. A speaker, executive coach, and founder of the leadership consultancy Know More LLC, he has spent nearly twenty years helping leaders and communities build cultures where everyone feels seen. He grew up with a stutter that once convinced him his voice was his weakness — and now speaks, facilitates, and coaches for a living, living proof of the message at the heart of his work.

Derrin is the author of the children's book Squez (2025) and is at work on his first leadership book, Stood in the Gap: A Leader's Journey to Purpose and Transformation, with a companion volume, The Aperture, in development. He also hosts the Stood in the Gap podcast (relaunching 2027), where he explores purpose, resilience, and the people who show up for us at our lowest moments.

Whether he's writing for children or for leaders, Derrin writes about the same thing: the quiet, courageous work of becoming who we're meant to be. He lives in Indianapolis, where he writes — in part — for his own children.
