My name is Bas Meijers, and my journey has taken me through multiple fields, from healthcare to entrepreneurship, philosophy, and religious studies. I started my career as a male nurse, a path I pursued at the age of 31 to secure a stable income and insurance. Before that, I developed and ran my own business in apitherapy and medicinal honey, creating natural health products based on traditional remedies, as well producing as sell it as matrket merchant
Two years ago, I was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy (HOCM), which led me to step away from my business and rethink my priorities. For around five years, I had been an amateur student of Seneca’s teachings, drawn to Stoic philosophy’s emphasis on resilience, wisdom, and self-discipline. After converting to Islam, I began to notice strong similarities between Stoicism and Islamic teachings, particularly in the works of Imam Al-Ghazali and other scholars.
This realization led me to create a website jounal, share my findings about being a freshly converted muslim, initially as a platform for information and guidance. Over time, it has evolved into a space where I share my reflections, findings, and personal journey in Islam. Colums got bundled, new found interrests like oud & bakhoor collecting gave a drive to write more. By reading my books, the reader becomes part of my journey. lets roll, Ibrahim.
