Mankato, Minnesota, is where I have called home for the last 26 years. My wife Cheryl and I have raised four amazing children here and are now proud grandparents of a 5-month-old boy.
Although I'm technically a native Texan. I forever claimed to be a Californian in exile after having lived there for a few years before moving to Minnesota with my parents at the ripe old age of 5, where I have spent the last 46 years of my life.
While I've called Minnesota home for most of my life, I've had the opportunity to travel most of the country and some internationally. I have always loved meeting new people, experiencing new places, and doing new things. I believe it's giving me great insight into how similar we humans are but also how different and unique we are. Each culture I encounter has wonderfully unique characteristics, and getting to experience that has enriched my life.
While I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology and a minor in law enforcement, I have spent the vast majority of my career in business as a Product Manager and working in Sales. I have extensive experience in public speaking and have even dabbled in podcasting. If you want to hear some lousy podcasting, check out all six episodes of my podcast.
Growing up Dyslexic and having to manage it over the years. The thought of having to write an email most of my life was hard enough; reading was almost unbearable to me. So, as you can imagine, even the idea of doing something as crazy as writing would have been entirely out of the question. But here I am, little old me at 51 years old, writing this book. I guess when you're passionate about something, you can do incredible things. But, God is good and has allowed me to develop an interest in reading for the first time over the last few years. Through that, I have begun to develop a voice in writing, and while the process is challenging, it's been enjoyable.
What got me thinking about writing was really at the request of others after having told them about my experiences with high blood pressure and how I was able to off my blood pressure medications after 8 years and bring it back to normal. What got me started writing was when I read about how many people suffer from Heart Attacks and Strokes. How many people die from them, how closely related it is to high blood pressure, and just how preventable it is.
I hope you enjoy reading my writing and I hope I have the chance to write again.
