Kas Freyle (pseudonym of Jesús David Freyle Márquez) was born in Santa Marta, Colombia. He is a Social Communicator and Journalist, a candidate for a PhD in Humanities and Education, with a Master's in Digital Marketing and a Specialization in University Teaching. As the creator of the steampunk transmedia universe Romulhu, he has blended literature, music, podcasts, comics, and video games, standing out as the writer for the NFT video game Eterland.
He is the author of the books Romulhu: Tales from a No Man's Land, a steampunk fantasy that has made waves in the country's cultural sectors, and Gamify! The Revolution of Learning Through Play. His works have been published by various publishers, earning recognition in eight literary competitions. In 2023, he won the Volar Award for Best Short Story, and as the screenwriter for the documentary Jaladora del Mar, he received an award at the Caja de Cine Festival in the professional documentary category, with participation in the Cartagena de Indias International Film Festival (FICCI). In 2024, he was one of the winners of the 4th National Ita Editorial Call.
Additionally, Kas Freyle is the bassist and vocalist of the band Parnassus, with which he won the Tayrona Award and the District Rock Festival in 2016. In 2022, he was recognized as the best teacher nationwide at the National Education Corporation (CUN). Since childhood, he has been involved in theater, receiving multiple accolades as a playwright in youth festivals. Currently, he is the host of the Unimagdalena Rock Festival and director of the radio program Kastlemania.
