Biography of Geoffrey Mbala
My name is Geoffrey Mbala, and I am privileged to serve my community and the broader world through my diverse roles as a mediator, pastor, author, counsellor, and police officer. Each of these roles allows me to contribute to building a more just, peaceful, and compassionate world, guided by my faith and commitment to service.
Early Life and Education:
I come from Gem, Siaya, Kenya, a place that has shaped my values and the person I have become. From a young age, I felt a strong calling to serve others, which led me to pursue education and training that would allow me to make a meaningful difference in my community. I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor of Theology, both of which have deepened my understanding of human behavior, emotional well-being, and spiritual growth.
My Career as a Police Officer:
As a police officer, I have dedicated myself to upholding the law, ensuring public safety, and fostering peace in the community. This career has allowed me to serve others, build trust, and protect citizens, all while maintaining integrity and professionalism. The role has been both rewarding and challenging, and it has instilled in me a strong sense of responsibility and duty to my fellow man.
Mediation and Counselling:
Alongside my work in law enforcement, I developed a deep passion for
mediation and counselling. I am a certified professional mediator, trained at the Suluhu Mediation Centre in Keny* and the Mediation Institute in Australia. I am also accredited by Kenya’s Mediation Accreditation Committee (MAC). In my mediation practice, I assist individuals and communities in resolving conflicts by finding mutual understanding and peaceful solutions. I believe in the power of reconciliation and healing, and I am honored to facilitate that process.
In addition to my work as a mediator in the private sector, I serve as a family mediator within the Kenyan Judiciary. In this role, I work with families experiencing disputes, helping them navigate complex emotional issues and find amicable solutions that prioritize the well-being of all involved. It is a role I hold with great responsibility, as I work to ensure that families can resolve their differences in a way that fosters healing and understanding.
As a counsellor, I help individuals navigate personal struggles, offering support and guidance to help them achieve emotional and mental well-being. My background in Counselling Psychology has equipped me with the tools necessary to offer effective, compassionate care.
Pastoral Ministry:
Faith has always been a central part of my life. I am ordained as Reverend and currently serve as the pastor of Kericho Town PEFA Church. In this role, I guide my congregation in their spiritual journeys, helping them grow in their faith and find purpose in their lives. Through preaching, teaching, and personal counselling, I strive to inspire and encourage others to live with faith, integrity, and love.
I have had the privilege of serving in several ministries throughout my life, including Cathedral of Praise Ministries Int'l, where I was brought up as a young believer, and Pillars of Hope Evangelistic Ministry, where I served as Prayer Coordinator. Additionally, I have been actively involved with the Christian Police Association Kenya Chapter and many other Christian organizations across the country. These ministries have shaped my faith and have given me numerous opportunities to serve and contribute to the spiritual growth of others.
Author:
As an **author**, I share my insights, experiences, and knowledge through books that focus on personal growth, conflict resolution, and spiritual development. I aim to inspire others to live lives of purpose, integrity, and peace, providing them with tools to overcome challenges and grow both personally and spiritually.
Legacy and Continued Service:
Throughout my life, I have remained committed to serving others in a variety of capacities. Whether as a police officer, mediator, counsellor, pastor, or author, I continue to strive to make a positive impact on the lives of those around me. My journey is ongoing, and I remain passionate about learning, growing, and serving my community and the world.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to serve in these different roles, and I look forward to many more years of contributing to the well-being and spiritual growth of those I encounter.
