Dr. J. Dan Rothwell

J. Dan Rothwell has been a professor of Communication Studies at Western Washington University, University of Oregon, Fort Hays Kansas State University, Lane Community College, and Cabrillo Community College. He has a B.A. in American History, an M.A. in Rhetoric and Public Address, and a Ph.D. in Communication Theory and Social/Political Influence.

As an author of eight books, he has received two national awards. As a professor, he has received more than two dozen teaching awards. These include national, international, regional, state, and local awards. Having never achieved one of his early goals in life--to be a Hall of Fame major league baseball pitcher--these awards only partially compensate for his lifelong disappointment. Further solace is provided by the joy he experiences sharing his life with his amazing wife, Marcy, their children, and grandchildren who keep him younger than his years.
