Liene Burbeck is a graduate of the South Australian School of Art. After moving to Melbourne, she gained a B.A. in Politics and Sociology from Monash University. Liene raised two children while establishing her own small advertising/illustration business. Years later she qualified as a teacher of English as a Second Language and taught in Prague, Latvia and Australia.
After painting for some years in watercolour, oil and pastel, as well as producing pen and ink drawings and being awarded prizes in exhibitions, Liene finally turned to writing, which had been her passion since her early teen years. While she has had poems published, “The Power Within Her” is Liene's first novel.
Liene has travelled extensively and spent almost a year in South America. “The Power Within Her” is born of Liene's love of the jungle, of wild things and of the challenges of surviving in the wild.
