Jay Falor was born in Ft Polk, Louisiana but grew up in Sydney, Australia after their family moved there when they were young. They earned a Bachelor's degree in History, which informs their interest in worldbuilding complex fictional worlds. An avid reader from a young age, Falor traces their passion for creative writing back to age 14, though they did not begin writing more seriously until their 20s when they started participating in online forums.

Major inspirations fueling Falor's vivid imagination include beloved fantasy authors like Terry Pratchett, Terry Brooks, Naomi Novik and Eoin Colfer. They are drawn to science fiction and fantasy genres because of the boundless opportunities they provide to build completely new worlds, societies, creatures and belief systems that exist outside the constraints of our real world. This fuels their enthusiasm for rigorous worldbuilding before beginning a new novel.

When not crafting intricately detailed fictional realms, Falor enjoys pursuing other creative hobbies like tabletop roleplaying games. They also continue to read voraciously across genres, with particular interests in history, astronomy and emerging technologies. An incurable lifelong learner, Falor takes joy in constantly discovering new information about the real world that often inspires and influences their writing.
