Bruce Powell is a former Visual Effects Sequence Supervisor and Lighting Technical Director who retired early from the film industry after contributing his artistic talents to numerous blockbuster productions. Now, he applies his meticulous eye for detail as a copy editor and proofreader for publishers and fiction authors.

A lifelong nerd who grew up during the transformative decades chronicled in his book, Nerdgasm!, Bruce has witnessed firsthand the evolution of nerd culture from maligned subculture to dominant entertainment force. His professional background in visual effects gave him a unique perspective on how technological innovations have helped bring once-niche fantasies to spectacular life on screen.

In his spare time, Bruce enjoys exploring the potential of AI to assist with writing projects, particularly in developing tools and techniques to support fellow writers in their creative endeavors. When not working with words or technology, he can be found sorting his extensive board game collection, playing MMORPGs or Open-World games on his computer, or playing bi-weekly online Dungeons & Dragons campaigns with friends scattered across different time zones.
