M A Lukas moved to the south west of England as a child and takes inspiration for her writing from the landscape and her knowledge of the history of her surroundings. She studied English language and psychology at degree level and became a tutor of English. She is intrigued by folklore and the paranormal and wrote a number of short stories encompassing these themes before embarking on her debut novel, Ravensweald Familiar. Drawing from past experiences and old stories, she adds an unusual ‘what if?’ and makes it a trademark of her writing.
