Sam Doty is a writer, lighting designer, and private pilot who splits his time between Florida and New York. He is the author of The Color in Me, a children’s book that gently tackles bullying and self-worth, and The Book of Sammy, a bold, thoughtful exploration of faith, hypocrisy, and finding truth in a world full of noise.

Under the unapologetically blunt pen name Jim McGee, he also wrote Don’t Be a Cnt*, a modern (and hilarious) guide to basic decency, inspired by the lost art of civility.

Whether writing for kids, skeptics, or the socially exhausted, Samuel’s work blends honesty, humor, and hope in equal measure. He lives on caffeine and curiosity—and still believes words have the power to change things.
