Vasyl Moshchenok

Professor Vasyl I. Moshchenok is a distinguished Ukrainian scientist, researcher, and academic with extensive expertise in the field of materials science and mechanical engineering. He holds a Candidate of Technical Sciences degree and serves as a professor at one of Ukraine’s leading technical universities. Over the course of his career, Professor Moshchenok has authored numerous scientific publications and monographs dedicated to the study of hardness, indentation mechanics, and the evaluation of mechanical properties of metals and alloys. His research is focused on developing advanced methods for hardness testing across macro-, micro-, and nano-scales, with particular attention to the modernization of classical techniques and the integration of digital instrumentation and modeling. He is recognized for pioneering work in applying spherical-conical indenters for accurate material characterization and for his contributions to the improvement of standardization protocols in hardness measurement. In addition to his scientific achievements, Professor Moshchenok is an experienced educator, mentor to young researchers, and a strong advocate for advancing scientific knowledge despite the challenges posed by wartime conditions in Ukraine.
