Dan Valenti

I began my career as a newsman working for two metro dailies, the first in Syracuse NY (The Post-Standard) and the second in Wilkes-Barre, PA (The Times-Leader). After that, I did something scary. I struck out on my own to make it as a writer, and that has been my lifelong profession, supplemented by side gigs with talk radio, TV and teaching.

To commit full-time to writing is something akin to what I imagine a religious vocation is like. It's a call that won't leave you alone unless you answer. I've written in every medium and the output includes more than 4,000 newspaper columns, countless online pieces, and more than 20 books. After many millions of published words, I'm still trying to exhaust those 26 symbols of the English alphabet.
