Celia Ann Merrill

The art of linguistic mischief has helped Celia through a wealth of written work. A former healthcare professional and trustee of Appledore Book Festival, with detours into education and administration, Celia is now writing for pleasure.

Her poetry & prose celebrate the sights, sounds, emotions and experiences that have been enjoyed in the inspiring and beautiful environment of North Devon. Charities and other organisations have used or commissioned her verse.

A recent development has been facilitating 'A Walk with Words': an opportunity to energise the senses on a walk around the beautiful estuary location of Appledore, with pauses for reflection, poetry and the occasional song along the way. This has evolved into a joint venture with The Cabin Girls as ‘A Virtual Walk with Words and Music’

Publication of 'The Shout- and Appledore Anthology' by Discover Your Bounce Publishing is a fundraiser for Appledore RNLI's 200th anniversary. A donation from the sale of each book goes to the Appledore RNLI crew fund.
