I’m Kyle Mays — a former correctional officer and Iraq War veteran. I’ve seen the best and worst of people, and those experiences shape every story I write. My Inherited Violence series is fiction, but it’s rooted in something real: trauma, survival, and what it means to fight back when no one else will.

I write for the ones who’ve been through hell and came out swinging. For those who carry scars you can’t always see. And for anyone who knows what it feels like to be shaped by violence — but refuses to let it define them.

When I’m not writing, I stay involved in fight promotion and spend time with my son and daughter — my proudest title will always be “Dad.”
