J. Hernandez is an environmental professional with a passion for history, culture, and the rugged landscapes of the Southwest. While putting himself through college, he worked at the Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park, giving interpretive tours and sharing the stories of the Old West. He later served as a Cultural Resource Manager before moving into the environmental compliance field.
With Tohono O’odham roots, J. Hernandez has long been drawn to the rich histories of the region. Though his own family’s traditions were lost generations ago, he deeply admires the Quechan people, who continue to honor their past through storytelling and tradition. Inspired by real events and historical figures, his writing brings to life the untold stories of the Southwest, blending action, history, and heart.
