Writing poetry, songs, and telling stories is a God given talent that I used to dabble in, and then let lie dormant for years. I became serious about my craft around 2008/2009. At first, I just felt an overwhelming urge to express myself creatively, and then it became a form of therapy. Fast forward sixteen years, and now I can’t imagine life without my craft.
My writing influences are(in no particular order) Gil Scott Heron, King David, Edgar Allen Poe, Tupac Shakur, and Jim Morrison. I can relate to each in different ways and at various points in my life, but the main connector is that they were all poets and storytellers, just like me.
I not only write for myself but also to reach people around the world.. It is a wonderful feeling to connect with fellow creatives, lovers of literature/art, and fans through my craft. A big part of my purpose and a lot of my work is written/spoken to encourage, warn, and raise frequencies.. Through poems, anthems, stories, and songs, I am able to offer up thanks and praise to God, speak of my faith, life experiences, give honest depictions of unpleasant scenes of life, personal failures, loss, and resilience.
