I’ve been telling stories for as long as I can remember. When I was a small child, I would sit at an ancient, hand-me-down electric typewriter—its keys clacking beneath my fingers as I wove together tales far beyond my years. The machine was a relic, older than me by decades, and yet it became my most cherished companion in creativity. I didn’t know then that those early hours spent pounding away at mismatched keys would eventually lead me here, to my first major book: Crossroads at Dawn: The Story of Us.
Writing has always been my way of making sense of the world. Every story I have ever written, whether it was scribbled in a worn notebook, tapped into my phone late at night, or shaped on the glowing screen of my laptop has always carried pieces of me. As a child, words felt like magic, a way to build something out of nothing. As I grew, they became a refuge, a means of processing life’s complexities, of capturing the fleeting emotions that shape who we are.
Over the past twenty-five years, writing has been my constant. It has accompanied me through every stage of life, evolving with me. At times, it has been an escape with whole worlds constructed to offer sanctuary when reality felt too heavy. Other times, it has been a bridge, allowing me to connect with people in ways spoken words sometimes fail to do.
Crossroads at Dawn: The Story of Us is the culmination of that journey. It’s a story shaped not just by imagination, but by experience, by the moments that define us, by the choices that change our paths, and the connections that hold us together or drive us apart. It is, at its core, a book about resilience, love, and the way we navigate the complexities of human relationships.
Every character in my book carries a fragment of someone I’ve met, someone I’ve loved, someone I’ve lost, or someone I’ve been. While fiction allows us the freedom to create new realities, there is always a thread of truth woven into the fabric of every story. That’s what makes writing so powerful—it reflects the depths of human emotion, capturing the raw, unfiltered experiences that shape us.
Beyond storytelling, I find meaning in the moments between the words—the long walks where ideas take shape, the quiet hours spent reading and absorbing the perspectives of others, the conversations that spark something unexpected. Writing is not just an act of creation for me; it is a dialogue, a way to understand and be understood.
I hope that Crossroads at Dawn: The Story of Us resonates with those who read it. I hope it reminds people that they are not alone in their struggles or their triumphs, that every story—no matter how personal—has the ability to connect us in ways we never expected.
And though this is my first major book, I know it will not be my last. Because as long as there are stories to tell, I will keep writing. The same way I did when I was a small child at that ancient electric typewriter, finding magic in the rhythm of keys and the endless possibilities of the blank page.
