Maurice McDavid

Maurice McDavid was born and raised in DeKalb, Illinois where he currently resides with his high school sweetheart and three children. Maurice is an elementary school principal, assistant pastor, and amateur rapper that can spit hot fire. He has a Masters in Educational Leadership with a superintendency certificate. He co-founded Black, Brown, and Bilingüe, a podcast about uniting Black and Brown communities through education and storytelling. He uses his bilingualism and rap battle skills to connect with students, staff, and community. Maurice self-published a children's book, What I Always Wanted to Be to honor his favorite job, being a father. His debut educational book, Your Words are Fire - 10 Culturally Responsive Teaching Strategies to Speak the Language of Belonging and Help Students Learn, Express Ideas, and Solve Problems, published by Times 10 Publications, is co-authored with his business partner, Lissette Jacobson.
