I’m Mick… ex-Armed Forces, lifelong word nerd, and apparently, an author. I’ve always had a thing for language: Scrabble, crosswords, swearing creatively; if it involves words, I’m in. After leaving the military (and even while I was in), I built a career writing CVs, LinkedIn profiles and career documents for everyone from ex-squaddies to executives at Google, Meta, and Amazon. Yes, I know – the irony.

I’ve got a son. He thinks he’s funnier than me. He’s not. He’s definitely uglier though, so I let him have the jokes.

When I’m not writing, I’m either rummaging through antiques or pretending I’m not writing. But here we are: my books are a satirical, no-holds-barred look at the funnier side of life, whatever that may be. If we’re not laughing, what’s the point?

If it all goes wrong for me, I’ll probably end up selling spoons at a car boot sale. Watch this space. Or don’t. I’ll still be writing.
