Marius DEVAUD

Composer, orchestrator, musician and music producer, writer, editor and illustrator, Marius DEVAUD was born in Zurich. From the age of 5, he grew up in Sion, Switzerland, and now lives in Geneva. He studied violin from the age of 7 and played guitar from the age of 15. After an apprenticeship as a « Civil Engineering Designer » in an engineering firm in Sion, he obtained a « Federal Certificate of Capacity » (CFC) at the age of 19. During this period, he played an actor role in the Film « Celui qui vient de nulle part », a feature film by Grégoire Brainin, presented at the Diablerets Film Festival and the Cannes Film Festival (1969). He also played roles in Carnaby Street commercials while living in London in 1970. From his teenage years until the age of 23, Marius played as a bassist, guitarist, and singer in hundreds of dance halls, rock, blues, and pop concerts, as well as in trendy clubs and dance halls in Switzerland, England, France, Italy, Greece, and Luxembourg.

Then, from the ages of 23 to 30, he studied classical music at the conservatories of Montreux, Sion, and Geneva. He completed extensive musical studies in all the techniques of writing for a professional composer and orchestrator at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève. Along side his busy schedule, he also pursued interests in philosophy, psychology, literature, poetry, and computer science. While practicing various types of meditation in his spare time, he was particularly interested in humanism, mysticism, primordial tradition, and esotericism.

Marius has written and produced music for stage, theater, and Film. His musical catalog includes a repertoire of nearly 1,000 titles and a catalog of video films. His literary catalog includes more than thirty original works in french, included in the collections « L’Esprit de Genève », « L’Ame du Monde », « L’Anneau de Feu », and « La Croix de Roses ».

Marius also composed, orchestrated, and produced a 10-track, 60-minute symphonic suite entitled « Anima Mundi Ceremonial », which he recorded at the Hungaroton Studios in Budapest, Hungary, with a 100-piece philharmonic orchestra : the prestigious Budapest Symphony Orchestra.

After creating his own orchestra, « Marius Devaud Orchestra », and his own home recording studio in a ProTools environment, he composed and produced the music for several American films, including the following:

* Zombie Cheerleading Camp (USA 2009), an American Film by Jon A. Fabris. A Film that won the 2009 « Golden Ace Award » at the Las Vegas International Film Festival, ranking first prize in the horror feature Film category.

* Spawn of the Vampire (USA 2011), American Film by Jakob Welser and Erik Herrera. A Halloween horror Film.

* I Am Death (USA 2012), American Film by Erik Herrera. A Halloween horror Film, the first episode of « Dark Elements ».

* Hola America (USA 2014), action drama film by Karim Missouri. A film that won the famous « Golden Palm Award » 2016 at the Mexico City International Film Festival (Mexico), ranking first prize in the feature Film category.
