Taylor Yount

Taylor Yount is a disability rights advocate, entrepreneur, and poet living on the Oregon Coast. She began her journey with poetry over a decade ago, penning her first verses in the small space of a college dorm room at Santa Clara University. After receiving a Bachelor's degree in psychology with a thesis on PTSD in 2015, she embarked on a career in nonprofit work for 10 years. Yount draws upon her combined backgrounds of academia, nonprofit, and lived experiences to explore the lasting effects of trauma and mental health. She uses the artistic muse of poetry to capture the unspoken emotions of trauma and transform them into something tangible. Her work reflects a nuanced understanding of the human mind, offering readers both insight and solace.

Recently, she has founded her own accessibility consulting business and teaches at the local community college. She also serves as an ambassador for her local Chamber of Commerce, where she passionately advocates for community engagement and support. When she's not out in the community, Yount enjoys spending quiet moments writing with tea in hand and her beloved cat, Tabitha, curled up next to her.
