Andrew G Davies

In 2011, at the age of 46, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Although I had heard of MS before, I lacked a comprehensive understanding of the disease and its symptoms. A year later my employment was terminated due to ill health. Despite my illness, I continued offering marketing consultancy to small businesses across Merseyside. In 2015, I was honoured with a prestigious fellowship from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).

I was born in Liverpool in 1965 and am commonly known as Andy. Childhood was an educational experience, the area we lived in presented numerous challenges. Despite these obstacles, I grasped the notion that better opportunities awaited. During my informative teenage years, I was introduced to my first (very basic) computer. It was an affair with technology that lasted throughout my working life. During this period, I also discovered my aptitude for selling products, which naturally led me to the field of marketing.

Writing, whether in the context of formal proposals or academic settings, has always brought me great satisfaction. During the later phases of the Covid-19 global pandemic, I informed a few colleagues of my intention to produce a book. The Evolution Disturbance has taken over four years to develop and 18 months to write. I am immensely proud of this work, it describes episodes of my life including the strains of living with MS. Above all, it will take the reader on a journey of discovery that starts and ends with, what if?
