Randle Stonier

Randle Stonier is the founder of Dog Business School, an Ofqual-regulated provider of dog care qualifications for UK pet care professionals, and the author of How To Start Your 'Home From Home' Dog Business.

A qualified animal licensing inspector - he holds the Ofqual Level 3 Award in Animal Licensing Inspection - Randle is also a local-authority-licensed pet carer, running his own home boarding, daycare and dog walking business, so his guidance comes from operating under the same rules his readers face. In 2021 he acted as an expert witness on the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018, and he has given the BBC expert commentary on regulation of the pet care industry. In 2026 he founded the Dog Business Association, an independent trade body for dog care professionals.

His earlier career spanned marketing, communications and events: he chaired the Institute of Promotional Marketing and, in 2009, received an Honorary Doctor of Education from Leeds Beckett University in recognition of his contribution to education in events management.

He writes and teaches to help others build professional, compliant dog care businesses.
