Sash Sass

Riley Monroe is the author of Sash and Sass, a vibrant, heartfelt novel that celebrates the power of self-expression, second chances, and unapologetic femininity. At 35, Riley brings a fresh, fearless voice to contemporary fiction, blending sharp wit with emotional depth.

Raised in Savannah, Georgia, Riley grew up surrounded by strong women, dramatic flair, and vintage fashion. Her grandmother was a local theater icon, and her mother ran a boutique filled with bold prints and bigger stories. This creative atmosphere sparked Riley’s love for character, color, and storytelling. She began writing early—crafting whimsical tales and emotional dramas in equal measure, always with a pen in one hand and a sketchpad in the other.

After a decade in fashion marketing, Riley took a leap into full-time writing. Her debut novel, Sash and Sass, drew readers in with its charm, sass, and unapologetic heart. But lately, Riley has turned her focus to her newest passion: creating fun, adventurous, and meaningful books for children.

Inspired by her young nieces and a deep desire to nurture creativity and confidence in the next generation, Riley is now building a playful literary world filled with bold characters, big imaginations, and positive messages. Her children’s books aim to spark laughter, encourage kindness, and remind kids that being themselves is the best story they can tell.

Riley now lives just outside of Austin, Texas, with her rescue dog Penny and an ever-growing collection of whimsical notebooks. When she’s not writing, she’s exploring nature trails, hosting backyard craft parties, or searching for the perfect pancake recipe. She believes every story—whether bold, silly, or heartfelt—has the power to brighten a life.
