Christian W. Bauer

Christian W. Bauer has been walking the Camino de Santiago for over 20 years. In that time, he has completed the pilgrimage 23 times, covering more than 14,000 kilometers across five countries.

Some of his most unforgettable experiences include accompanying a school class along the Camino, volunteering as a hospitalero in a medieval chapel converted into a pilgrim hostel, and walking from Rome to Santiago de Compostela on a four-month solo journey.

When he’s not on the Camino, Christian explores the world as a travel writer and photographer—always in search of powerful stories and striking images.

Christian has also published articles, calendars and journals about the Camino de Santiago. He lives with his wife in Switzerland.
