Paula Piechna is a children’s book illustrator and designer who believes that emotion is at the heart of every good story. She creates images that move, speak, and sometimes - quietly whisper.
Her style blends soft digital lines with a warm, retro atmosphere. She loves using space, silence, and a touch of understatement to let emotions breathe on the page.
Paula is both the illustrator and designer of The Know It Owl series - humorous and interactive nonfiction books where a very confident owl teaches other animals the truth about their own species. She also illustrated and designed To Be Free, a poetic tale about a butterfly finding courage, written by K.S. Quigley.
She lives in Poland with her husband and two wildly energetic kids, who are her greatest daily inspiration. When she’s not drawing, she’s either climbing rocks, reading with her children, or teaching herself how to play the violin (badly, but bravely).
