Author Biography – Emanuel Hartmann
Ever since I was a child, I’ve been fascinated by stories especially those that combine heart, imagination, and knowledge. Today, I have the privilege of writing exactly those kinds of stories myself. My books are for children, animal lovers, and anyone who finds joy in nature, learning, and the small yet meaningful moments of life.
I live near the beautiful Lake Tegernsee in southern Germany, surrounded by lakes, forests, and mountains. This environment inspires me every day with new ideas. I write my books sometimes early in the morning with a cup of coffee in hand, and sometimes late at night, when everything has become quiet and my thoughts can flow freely.
In my children’s books, such as “The Secret Mail of the Animals”, I write about friendship, togetherness, and the wonders of nature. I want to take children on exciting and heartwarming journeys into forests, to the sea, or to imaginative worlds where animals speak, secrets are uncovered, and courage is rewarded. Each story carries a message that goes beyond the adventure itself: that we should stand by one another, that even small actions can make a big difference, and that our natural world is something beautiful and worth protecting.
In addition to my children’s books, I also write guides about the proper and compassionate care of pets including rabbits, hamsters, degus, gerbils, and bearded dragons. Animals have always been part of my life, and I realized early on how important it is to truly understand their behavior and needs. Through my guides, I want to share this knowledge in a way that is practical, easy to understand, and written with heart and responsibility never dry or complicated. Many readers appreciate the clear structure, accessible language, and genuine passion for animals that can be felt in every chapter.
I see my books not just as sources of information, but as bridges between humans and animals. Those who truly understand their pets naturally develop more empathy, mindfulness, and patience values that reach far beyond animal care. That’s exactly what I aim to convey through my writing.
Writing, for me, is not just an occupation it’s a heartfelt passion. It has become a permanent part of my life, something that fulfills and inspires me, and allows me to combine creativity and knowledge. There is hardly a day when I’m not developing new ideas, doing research, planning, or taking notes. Many of my ideas come to me while walking my dog or simply observing animals in nature. Often, a brief moment is enough a fluttering bird, the rustle of leaves, or a ray of sunlight on the water and a new scene or story begins to take shape.
I truly believe that books can change people sometimes quietly, sometimes profoundly. Children who read with excitement develop imagination, language, and empathy. Adults who spend time learning about animals cultivate patience, understanding, and a deeper sense of responsibility. If my books can contribute even a small part to that, every smile they bring makes it worthwhile.
In my work as an author, I unite two worlds that are very close to my heart: my love of writing and my love for animals and nature. My children’s books are meant to bring joy and convey important values, while my pet guides are there to help readers understand and care for their animals better. This blend of emotion and knowledge describes my work best.
I consider myself lucky to be able to create my own path. As an independent author, I can shape my ideas exactly as they feel right to me with care, patience, and great attention to detail. From the first concept to the writing and design process, I accompany each project personally. It’s important to me that every book is honest, informative, and inspiring.
When I’m not writing, I love spending time outdoors with my partner and our dog. I enjoy the calm of the mountains, the fresh air, and the feeling of coming home after a long day outside, filled with new ideas. Traveling and discovering new impressions also play an important role in my life they continually inspire me to see the world from different perspectives.
With my books, I hope to inspire children to dream, make adults smile, and help animal lovers feel understood. For me, stories and knowledge are two paths leading to the same goal: greater mindfulness, compassion, and joy in the world around us.
I’m grateful to every reader who picks up one of my books. Each time someone reads one of my stories or learns something new from one of my guides, it fills me with deep joy. That’s exactly why I write to share, to connect, and to inspire.
Thank you for taking an interest in my books and for joining me on this journey.
