Freddie Omm is a writer based in The Hague who also grew up in the USA, UK and Indonesia.
His latest book - "along came a war - Ukraine 2022-2025", blends activist poetry and beautiful, evocative photographs by Kyiv-based Bohdana Bun. All profits will go to the Come Back Alive Foundation and support Ukrainian defence efforts.
His first novel, "Honor/Honour", first published in 2012, is a comic thriller. It's about how people in diverse cultures—east, west, multi and between—are driven and damaged by different conceptions of right living and honour. It did fairly well in the bestseller lists and was generously perhaps optimistically described as “an instant classic”.
His first first book of poems, "Sicilian Haiku—Migrant Shadows", was published in July 2024, with all profits going to SOS Mediterranee to support refugees and those who help them.
Freddie Omm is published by independent publishing cooperative Mad Bear Books.
