Jennifer Costello

Hi, I’m Jen, the creator behind The Adventures of Lou & Todd—inspired by my real-life brown Newfoundland dog, Lou, and a tiny backyard toad named Todd.

For over 20 years, I’ve shared life with Newfoundland dogs—their gentle nature, their muddy paws, and yes… their drool. Lou is no exception. He’s a lovable, goofy gentle giant who spends his days watching over our backyard—especially the little spot where Todd appears each year.

Todd, a small but mighty toad, may be tiny compared to Lou, but together they’ve formed a quiet, curious friendship over the last 4 years that inspired this book series.

Through Lou & Todd’s adventures, I hope to share simple but meaningful lessons about kindness, patience, and the magic of unexpected friendships.
